The Cycle
The cycle is an initiative created by ACF to bring awareness to women’s health in impoverished West African countries. The aim of the project is to give young girls access to menstrual hygiene products such as pads, feminine wipes, and wash. The project is a menstrual program to bring awareness to the disparities that exist in women’s health and how they affect adolescent girls in West Africa. With this project, we hope to make the female cycle as comfortable as possible. We hope to give young girls the tools and resources they need to take control of their health.

Empower Her Senegal
The EmpowerHer program, launched in 2023, aims to break the cycle of limited education accessibility for Senegalese girls by providing sponsorship for their yearly tuition. In Senegal, a significant challenge persists among lower-income families, particularly affecting young girls—the lack of access to education. This obstacle hinders their empowerment and perpetuates gender inequity. Through this program, sponsors can contribute to a young girl's education by making a one-time full payment. By offering sponsorship for their education, we can significantly improve literacy rates and create a pathway for these girls to contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Our Annual Orphanage Food, Clothes, and Toy Drive aims to bring joy, warmth, and nourishment to children in need, ensuring they have access to nutritious meals, appropriate clothing, and toys that foster creativity and happiness. Since 2019, we have distributed hundreds of supplies to our partner orphanage in Kaolack, Senegal and Saint Louis, Senegal.

Empower Her Ghana
The EmpowerHer initiative, a flagship program of the Africa Children’s Foundation, seeks to eliminate barriers to education for girls by providing financial sponsorships and access to resources. Partnering with Semegachange, we aim to expand this program to reach underserved communities in Ghana, ensuring that every girl can thrive academically and contribute to societal growth. Building upon two years of success in Senegal, this partnership will enable us to scale the initiative, empowering more young girls and addressing systemic inequalities in education.

Health For Her
The Africa Children’s Foundation (ACF) seeks to expand its efforts to tackle women’s health disparities in Senegal through a new initiative. This project builds on our existing work with The Cycle to address period poverty while introducing annual cervical and breast cancer screenings in Senegal's rural regions. The goal is to empower women and girls with access to essential health services, education, and resources that promote overall reproductive and maternal health.
The "Health for Her" initiative addresses critical gaps in women's health in Senegal, focusing on reducing period poverty and improving access to cervical and breast cancer screenings.
